What is a Vowel?

There are five vowels in English alphabets that are a, e, i, o, u. Alphabets are a speech sound that is produced without any significant constriction of the flow of air from the lungs.

Here is some examples of vowels: Apple, Balloon, Pea etc.

What is a Consonant?

A basic speech sound which can be combined with a vowel to form a syllable. There are many types of consonants sounds. We have 21 Consonants in our English Alphabets that are B, C, D, F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, P, Q, R, S, T, V, W, X, Y, Z.
